Are You Looking Out of a Window?

I really did a lot of experimenting with sandwiching negatives and this is the final one I did. It seem that all of my prints from this roll sandwich together as if that was how I took the photo. For his photo I was in Old Trail and I took this picture thinking it would turn out for David Hockney. It didn't and so I used it for this roll. I sandwiched the houses with a window so that I actually looks almost like I took it from a window. Pretty cool. I was inspired by things that look like they belong.

Doggie Silhouette

For my third free choice picture I did a silhouette of Sadie. I was hard for her to stay still and whenever I would bring the camera to my eye she decided to move. She is not very photogenic. This photo came about by me telling her to sit and so she decided to sit on the stairs. She is a great dane and so because of that she is very tall. Her front legs were two stairs in front of where her booty was, which added a nice little spot of light that didn't make her look like just one big black blob. The sky came out nice with its dark gray clouds. I really like to silhouette photography. It is something that has come naturally to me since I started photography at school. Every year I develop two or three really good silhouette photographs. This is one of my favorites of this year.

RUNNNN!

This is my great dane Sadie. This photo is also from my free choice roll. I really like the contrast and how everything is still but Sadie. I looks like she is chasing the car...I would have gotten run over though if the car was moving. It's a funny photo with lots of detail and things to look at. I was inspired by Sadie and how she can race down a hill and through the woods without stopping. I almost got run over a couple of times trying to get a picture of her running. The grass has so much detail and so do the cars. I am proud of how this photo came to be.

The Empty Helium Tank

This was for my free choice roll and I figured that there was so much going on near my bar I should take a picture but make one thing stand out. The helium tank is the main focal point but then you start to see all the other little details. I was inspired by clutter. I like contrasty images and while this has contrast it also has the grays needed. I am proud of this photo.

It's Snowing Cats

This is my first experience/picture with sandwiching negatives. I took a picture of my friends cat as it laid in front of my camera. The snowflake was made by my friend. The snowflake is cats! To take a picture of the snowflake I put a dark colored piece of paper behind the snowflake because it was white and see-through. I didn't want what you could see behind the snowflake to show through. This turned out great. The only thing that I would change is letting the snowflake show all around instead of how it blends into the light at the top. This is one of my favorites. I was inspired by the snowflake that my friend made back in December. I wanted it to be documented and shown to the WORLD!

The Cat Cat

This is another of my sandwiching negatives pictures. For this one I sandwiched a cat's silhouette and just a cat laying down. I was inspired by silhouettes and and how easily these photo negatives fit together. I was at my friend's house for these photos. This is one of those photos where you look at it and then after looking at it for a while you see the cat silhouette. Because it isn't the main focal point it isn't as noticeable. I really like how this came out.

It's Snowing Cats *

This was actually my first sandwiching negatives print. I sandwiched together and cat and a snowflake the is cut out to make it look like cats.

The Ghost Cat

This is my sandwiching negatives picture. As I experimented with this print the cat in the window disappeared. With the one on the top it only looks like a reflection but on the bottom.....like a ghost. The difference between the two is the contrast. Because one is darker than the other more of the subjects shows from both negatives. While in the less contrasty one you can see more of some things and less of others...like the cat. I was inspired by my friends cats and how they seemed to always be doing something crazy. I really like how both of these prints came out. I took this in my friends house when we were sitting in the kitchen and all the cats were surrounding us wanting to be pet.
